Sark News

Hi All,

As you well know, Sark is still out there, on the prowl, no doubt flirting with unsuspecting CIA agents and causing a ruckus, but his counterpart, David Anders has just finished his first film. This is where you say, "What? What film? What's it about? When does it come out?" The film is called Left in Darkness and from the looks of the promos- it's a horror film. Oooh, the best kind! Here is a snippet on the film:

Left In Darkness illuminates the story of Celia (Keena), a troubled girl whose tortured past places her in spiritual and physical limbo. Her mother died in childbirth, and she always felt responsible for the tragedy. When her father disappeared, her grandparents raised her. As she got older, her sense of guilt grew deeper. And on the night of her 21 st birthday, Celia is drugged, raped and dies of an accidental overdose at a wild college frat party. But for her, it's just the beginning: Trapped in a netherworld between sanctuary and damnation, Celia must now battle the demons – including hordes of horrific Soul Eaters – that prowl the Afterlife. Is the spirit of her recently deceased grandfather ( Thomerson ) trying to lure her to an eternity of suffering? Can her guardian angel ( Anders ) safely lead her to the other side? Is there any way to go towards the light when your soul is Left In Darkness ?

(Um, so, David Anders can be my guardian angel anyday... oh and um, Sark playing an angel, that is a horror story in itself!) The film is set to be released on DVD September 19th and guess what? Yours truly gets her very own copy to review! So, we will hear all about it at Let's Talk first! That is if I survive the viewing- I may need to coax my roomies into holding me during the scary stuff! Stay tuned for the review and more information on where you can purchase your own copy! Get geared up, he may not be sporting his posh British accent, but he's still got the blonde and the baby blues! Swoon!

damn, that sounds like a really violent, depressing movie! I don't know if Anders being in it would make it worth my while to see, but I'd definitely like to see him on the big screen eventually.

I had read about this movie a while ago, so thanks for the update! I can't wait to see it. Who cares how crappy it is...Sark is in it! I saw Snakes on a Plane, so apparently, will watch anything ;-).

I hope that this is the first in a long line of projects for David..he is talented and hot and deserves it.

Do I watch scary movies? No! Do I watch potentially bad movies? No! Do I watch anything that has someone from Alias in it? YES!!! See my predicament!!! I’ll wait for your review GS, I hope it turns out good! :-)

When I first read about it, I thought, hmmm, not interested. But after reading the caps and looking at photos, it might be interesting. I know that the film not being in the theaters can be a turn off, but there are tons of great films that go straight to DVD....we'll see...

What would make this flick realllllly scary is if the artist formerly known as Sark scuffs another pair of $500 shoes.

I know this is OT, but...

I flew to Los Angeles (flew in on the 3rd and flew out the morning of the 4th) for Labor Day to attend a VERY insider Man From U.N.C.L.E. (popular 1960's TV spy show) fan group get together. These happens only every few years and this is the first time I've been invited.

One guy who was there wrote THE book on the UNCLE TV series. Another wrote a book on TV and movie spy gadgets (with a chapter on Alias) and was asked by the CIA to set up a spy gadgets display at CIA Headquarters. Three other guys do or have owned original guns from the show (these guns were so cool they had a following themselves). One of the guys worked on the Return of The Man From UNCLE TV movie in the 80's and won an Oscar for make-up on the movie Beetle Juice. Another one did some prop work on the TV movie and another is Oliver Stone's publicist for his recent movie about 911.

It was a great group with lots of good spy talk. About 15 people
there. Some of the original UNCLE guns were there and even though the pizza wasn't the best, there were lots of good stories.

One hotel story- When I got back to my room, which I had checked into and checked out when I arrived earlier in the day, my opening the door woke up a guy who was sleeping in the bed. I turned on the light and we asked each other what was going on. He called the desk to find out what the deal was. The short of it is that the hotel had confused Brad Ferguson with Michael Ferguson (the who's-that-sleeping-in-my-bed guy
from Australia. Also happens to be my brother's name!) and had given us keys to the same room. I figured this guy had squatter's rights since he was already in bed, so after we had a good laugh about the names I went downstairs and got another room.

Here are 4 pictures from the LA Ops meeting:

wow, what a crazy story uncle! Have you ever been to the spy museum in Washington D.C.? I hear they have quite a few of the spy gaget props from Alias and other spy series (both TV and movie) like James Bond. I've never been but am planning on it next time I'm in those parts.

srg- I haven't been, but I would like to. The guy who set up the exhibit in the CIA museum has loaned the spy museum some items. I don't know if he loaned them any Alias items or not. I'll try to find out what Alias items he has. I know he has some. He has a lot of Bond items. He interviewed Sean Connery and has pictures of him with Connery.
