I cried like a baby...

Five years went by in the blink of an eye. I never get tired of that scene from the first episode with Sydney in the cemetery when Jack approaches and gives Syd her very own CIA cellphone and then it rings. Sydney's tentative "hello" was like the starter's pistol going off..Syd's in, game on.

Wow, seems like I just finished watching that episode in "real time" and now it's all gone. My Alias done left me.

No wonder you cried like a baby, GS. It was definitely the appropriate reaction.

Yeah, it did go by fast and I kick myself everyday for not be interested in Alias when it first came out. I thought it looked silly. But then it all break loose and it became my favorite show. I try not to think about it as dead and gone, I try to think about all the glory and that it was time for Syd and Vaughn to be done (sorta), but I see clips like this and it makes me want to go shake the shoulders of the network. HOW COULD YOU, YOU BASTARDS!!

Wow, that really does tug on the ole heart. This is a really cool montage. Who made it, I wonder?

I miss Alias...I think I'll go dig out my DVDs and watch them this afternoon. Thanks for posting that, GS!

That would be an awesome video if they had a different song on it. Maybe blur or supreme beings of leisure. Just an idea.. but it's terrific.

OK - wish I'd seen this at home. It's Monday morning at work - and I'm crying... seems silly about a TV show, but Damn, it's so sad.

Yup, my alias done left me... page48 you nailed it.

I'm right there with you. Snuffling into my kleenex behind my cube walls hoping that my red eyes will clear before someone comes over and asks why I'm crying. Could be a bit awkward! :)
Great video, great song (who doesn't like Enya?). My husband thinks I should move on from Alias. I'm glad to know I'm not alone.

You can find it at youtube.com and you can save it from there I think. I thought it was the best of all I have watched. Very classy and clean. Perfect picture of Alias!

Great article about women heroines/women fans in pop culture.

I cry about every time I watch Alias (so every day). My daughters who are almost 3 get up from their nap every day and I am usually watching the end of some great episode. They patiently cuddle with me and wait for it to end so we can have a tea party, go for a walk, or do crafts, but not before they ask me to play the Alias intro music so they can dance their crazy little asses off. It kills me.

Did anyone ever watch that old show Beauty and the Beast with Ron Pearlman and Linda Hamilton? It had a little bit of that thing that makes a semi-science fiction/action show dark and interesting. I recall being really addicted to that show as well, though I watched it only in reruns thinking it would be really stupid. I ended up loving it.

What shows were you addicted to before Alias? There really are very few for me.

Should you ever find yourself wondering what sort of quality is required of a TV show in order for it to deserve a Season 6, just treat yourself to a tour of this website dedicated to the worst piece of shit ever created for television:

http://www.trailerparkboys.com

and while you're in the neighbourhood, try this:

http://trailerparkboys.com/shittest/instruct.html

Now, after you've recovered from that assault on your intelligence, remind yourself that the announced cancellation of Alias came shortly after Season 4, not after Season 5. Meanwhile, Trailer Park Boys is already in Season 6.

As a disappointed Alias fan, I'm fighting the urge to puke. If there's any change in my condition, I'll let you know.

dlove, tammy, lhaaheim, glad you appreciate "my Alias done left me". I know it sounds pitiful, but it just reminds me of being dumped by someone you think the whole wide world of. It's not over because you want it to be over, it's just over.

OMG, here's my 3rd post in a row! Is there a better scene in all of Alias than Sydney breaking the news to Dixon about SD6? The beauty of that scene, the emotion of Sydney, knowing that Jack's life hangs in the balance, the moment of truth for Dixon the patriot, everything he has ever believed in about to be proven a lie, trusting Sydney while hating every word she speaks, sickened by the truth, but trusting her nevertheless. Taking it like the man he is. Wow, is there anything more awe inspiring than this, that you have ever seen on television? How could a network exec live with his decision to cancel this show? I just don't get it. Do you get it?

lhaaheim : thanks for the article.
page58: you are so right about that scene with the patriot, Dixon and freckled face Syd. That's the ultimate. I don't think any tribute to Alias would be complete without that scene.

I know we all miss Alias, but I think this was the right time to go. Although I do wish we could have had a full season.

Oh, that scene with Dixon and the truth. I loved it. It was a call back to when Sydney told Danny the truth, same location, same color filters. Loved it.

If you watch the season 1 finale with commentary- Carl Lumbly (Dixon) talks about how much he hated shooting the scene in which he catches Sydney breaking into an SD-6 facility to steal something in order to get Will back. he said it was an emotional night, that it was hard for him (as Carl) to believe that Dixon didn't trust Sydney, that she was lying to him. JG also said it was a very hard scene and Michael Vartan said it was one of his all time Alias favorites. Dixon says something about rhetoric. It is an amazing scene.
