Barrellin' Through

First, I want to say BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO bloggers! We made it through, we did it. We survived and look, we are still in one piece. The blog didn't disappear, I didn't have a mental break down and really, there is tons more to discuss.

I want to say I am so proud of the respect and maturity that has been shown on the blog in the last 24 hours. It would have been easy for us all to fall apart, to be offended by others ideas and comments, but we are bloggers with class. Blogger Paul posted this nail-on-the-head comment which I think sums it all up: "Those who wanted the ambiguity gone and the answers to be clear were disappointed (and rightly so), and those who enjoyed the ambiguity enjoyed the finale (coming to a conclusion that they are satisfied with on their own)."
Thank you Paul!!

NOW- I absolutely have to share these photos with you! Bloggers Sarafu and Desiree sent these pictures to me from their Alias party.

Thanks ladies and babies for sending the photos in. Sorry that I didn't give you girls a ring. I was a mess. To see more pics of Sara and Desi's fun party, check out Sara's blog www.fuhead.blogspot.com My pics are on their way!

Now, I am sure you are all wondering what exactly the blog is going to be up to now that the show is over. Well, we are going to be honoring the greatest of Alias of course. Starting next week, I am going to ask you to watch your favorite episodes and send in your very own recaps. I have decided to start with season 3 and work toward the pilot. Send your recaps to me and I will post them. Everyone is welcome to participate. So, dust off the DVD's and get crackin'!!

Great pictures! It looks like you had a ton of fun!!! :-)

I just noticed that the countdown says "occasion already passed!" Really? I hadn't noticed :-D I just found that funny, then again I'm very sleepy and I get silly when I'm sleep deprived.

It really does feel like we survived something even though it was only the finale of a TV show. I am so happy that there is an intelligent and supportive place to go to talk about Alias. I love this blog and everyone here! So happy I found it and stuck around! :-)

Okay this could be the silly sleep mode that I am in but I'm confused about what is to come. Are we working back from season 3? What about season 4? I'm really fond of season 4 even though season 2 will always be my favorite. Yet I think it would be great to start Alias over at season one, I never had a full and real season one viewing experience I just caught each episode as the years went on (I started watching late in season one). Why aren’t we starting with the beginning? I think it would be nice to go full circle and go back to where it all started. :-)

So here is my plan for tomorrow: Watch the finale again and blog about every moment that I loved and forget about the questions and disappointment and just enjoy the shocking, beautiful and funny moments the finale gave us. I think a second viewing will really help lessen the small amount of disappointment I have. I already went back to clarify a couple things and caught myself watching unrelated scenes. Paul is right, I’m okay with the questions and while the holes and time crunch bother me I’m content with the ambiguity they left us with. At least Syd and Vaughn finally made it to the beach! :-D

I am going to start with season 3, you can start with which ever season you want to!

So GS you are starting at S3 and going forward to the finale or backward to the pilot? I didn't understand that.

I think I will start at the beginning to clear things up for myself. It may help what I don't get from the other night to go back where it all started -to see if it helps clear the cobwebs.

I am going to season three, backwards to the pilot. I might watch an ep or two of 4 and 5 too.

Isn't that going to confuse you to go backwards? I personally have a hard enough time going forward and understanding things.

Is there any reason you are starting there and working backwards? I know S3 is a favorite of ours, but is there a method to this madness :) Just kidding

When you recep an episode are you going to do it just from the episode in-and-of-itself, or based on what we now know since the finale and refer to the finale in the recap?

To add onto what Jenn just said, are we going to jump around with the recaps, a season 3 episode, then a season one episode or will we go in order. I'm still confused????

So my re-watch of the finale looks like it will be postponed until tomorrow (Thursday), I'm already running out of time today and with Lost this evening I don't think I will have time to watch all of it. Why does real life have to get in the way of Alias, doesn't it know that Alias is more important! Just kidding! :-D

If I find something in the eppie that connects to the finale, I will probably mention it, though I probably won't much. Sorry, still bitter.

I love going backwards, I don't know why. I also watch the Godfather movies backwards. It's interesting and you tend to pick up on the stuff more. I have alredy watch season 4 all the way backward to the pilot before. You gotta know if forwards and back. HAHAHA

Um, we will jump around on the recaps. I just want everyone to watch their personal favorites and to share what they saw, what they found and how it makes them feel.

I brought this up before but I think it got buried in the massive amounts of posts that followed the finale. Here is some of what I posted before, please let me know what you think. Is it too silly, lame, would you participate? :-D

"We have all been blessed to be people who care beyond normal means, Alias is just a television program, but it became so much more for some of us, we need to take the love we have for Alias and use it for something beyond the TV and computer screen. I say we start a ‘in the name of Alias movement’. Even though most of us probably perform acts of kindness everyday and are actively involved in our communities, this would be a great way to unify our efforts and give support to one another."

Thank you Girlscout for this great blog you have created and all your hard work. It's been a real pleasure to read your toughts all yearound and I'm sure this blog will survive even if Alias didn't (althought Alias will survive in our hearts). I'm unable to post my comments on the final episode because I don't have cable and I have to wait to watch Alias on Sunday. It's pure torture but I guess that like Syd & Rachel, I'm up for a little torture...
