Who Raised Michael Vaughn?

So, we have pondered the possibilities as to how might have raised Sydney Bristow, but perhaps to learn more about the man she loves, we need to examine or discuss who could have possibly raised him.

It is now understood that Bill Vaughn moved his son from France and changed his name to protect him from the group we know as Prophet 5. In this explanation there is no mention of Mrs. Vaughn and if she joined her husband and child in hiding. Vaughn seemingly loses his father at the age of 8 and is supposedly raised by his widowed mother. He spends Thanksgiving with her in season 1 and apparently visits her when he treks to Arizona to see his dying uncle. But does Mrs. Vaughn truly exist, or was she a cover, a fabrication to support Vaughn's secret, his alias as he searched for the answers behind his father's death?

It seems odd to me that Mrs. Vaughn would exist and we would have never met her, or seen her. That she would not visit her widowed daughter-in-law, the woman pregnant with her son's child. It seems strange that the woman who raised such an outstanding young man would be absent in his "death" and would not be in support of Sydney in her impending birth.

I have made this connection several times; that Sydney is in fact a parallel of Vaughn's mother. That Sydney herself has lost her love to the work of CIA and is how looking down the barrel of raising a child on her own. She is a widow as of late and it seems that any guidance or support that Mrs. Vaughn could give would be appreciated and needed.

If Mrs. Vaughn is a fabrication, a support of Vaughn's alias, then who raised Michael Vaughn after the death of his father? Who raised the little boy who would become Sydney's savior and ultimate love?

Any ideas? Any theories?

No, I meant a different twist; a non-Mrs. Vaughn nanny. Demented circular humor. Kind of like, if the watch from the past in Somewhere In Time is what inspired the character to try to go back in time, and his going back in time is how the watch got back in time, where did the watch come from originally. I know, it's obtuse.

I think she's alive. Maybe Vaughn didn't have time to tell his mother that he's now engaged and will soon be a father before he "died" so maybe Mrs. Vaughn doesn't even know about Sydney and the baby, that's why she couldn't offer her support...

It seems odd though Anon, he seems like a good son. He seemed like he would have been close to his mother after his father's death. Who doesn't have time to tell their mother they are in love for years and now having a child? I don't know?

Maybe he's trying to protect her, kinda like when Sydney couldn't tell her friends about what she really does for a living... especially since both him and the one he loves work for APO, a black ops division?

Ohh good point, protecting the mom.

maybe she died or left vaughn and his dad when he was younger. And maybe when Vaughn said he was going to spend thanksgiving with his mom, that would just be a cover to go do his double agent stuff. lol
