The Mole (A Picture Article)

I was in complete and utter shock as the camera revealed Lazarey’s killer. I had always had a sneaking suspicion that Lauren Reed, wife to Vaughn and NSC liaison to the CIA, was up to no good. I don’t know about you, but I spent the rest of the season yelling at the TV. “Vaughn! She’s bad!! Dump her!!”

We had to expect it. It was too much. How were the writers going to get rid of Lauren so that Sydney and Vaughn could be together again? Easy, make her bad and make him kill her.

This storyline is one of recycled glory. Jack too was duped by his wife, a secret agent for an enemy cell and it only seemed fair that the other man in Sydney’s life be burned by his wife too. At first, while Lauren conducted Covenant work during her hours in the Rotunda, and shacked up with Sark on occasion, Vaughn was busy tumbling down a spiral of deep denial. But later, when Jack shares his words of experience, Vaughn does some dirty work and finds Lauren’s wig and passport. Vaughn was a little less than excited about continuing his normal life sleeping next to a homicidal maniac, but in order to stop her, she had to believe that Vaughn and the gang were still in the dark.

Again, props to the camera guy and the Director- I loved the reveal shot. Also, props to the writers who took us from feeling for Lauren to despising her. It was a hell of a shock and a hell of a storyline!

49 DAYS and COUNTING!

Yes I had even started to (gasp) *like* Lauren because she helped extract Syd from the torture facility where they were going to do the invasive brain surgery. Come to find out she did that because the Covenant would never want anyone else knowing where the Rambaldi Cube was hidden and therefore HAD to get her out of there, but of course we didn't know that at the time. :) The reveal of Lauren as a mole was literally a jaw dropping experience for me, I can seriously remember sitting on my couch when that moment happened and being like OHHH MYY GODDD!!! I thought it was an excellent plot twist and loved the anticipation of waiting for Syd, Vaughn and the CIA finally would figure her out. Major kudos for the writers of her character and also for Melissa George for her excellent acting ability.

Oh yes, Kudos to Melissa George. I liked her as Lauren (as we can see from the bloopers, she is rather goofy in real life, much like Jennifer). Both Lauren and Melissa could play the sweet innocent against the dark bad girl every well. Loved it! My mom and sister can't stand her, it's something about her mouth or her teeth, but I like her.

Princess, is that Princess Laura? I think so! Call me brat!

I never liked Lauren. She never seemed like Syd'd caliber and I couldn't figure Vaughn falling for her, except being on the rebound from Syd's death.
As the season went on it became increasing difficult to even look at her on the screen, which means she was doing a good job playing a villainess.
When I have seen her on talk shows she seems really nice, though.

Oh sorry Cheryl! I have a friend who comes in to the boards and we always call her princess. Welcome again and thanks for the pics!
