Life Lines (A Picture Article)

(Guest writer srg-alias aka SReneeG)
Ok, we all know this line, say it with me everyone, "What was wrong with the BLACK one?" There is so much genious in the delivery of that line. A combination of classic Alias humor and showing how amazingly tough Sydney Bristow can be. You should not and will not mess with this woman. As she's said before, you move out of her way, or she'll MAKE you move out of her way. The opening scene to Phase One in season 2 is one of the best of the entire series in my opinion. Aired after the Super Bowl they knew there would be some people who just happened to leave the TV on, why not pull them in with an unGodly hot lingerie-clad woman strutting in slow motion to AC/DC's Back In Black? Phase One was an episode made not only for devout fans but to entice new ones, and as such, they had to cleverly word every scene so they wouldn't dumb things down for oldies but not confuse newbies. We've mentioned before some great scenes where the writers truely shine, what are some of your favorite Alias lines or dialogue scenes throughout the years?

That was a classic moment, indeed! One of my favorite lines from Sydney was in the pilot episode. She returns to SD6 in her crazy red wig with the device Sloane wanted. She plops it down on his desk and says (something to this effect) "I'm back. I am taking the week off, I've got finals."

Love it! There are tons more, but that's the one that sticks in my brain this morning!

haha yeah that's a good one tammy! This isn't a specific line, but I love the lines that are written for Sark. He's always so smooth, so perfectly spoken and only reveals as much as he desires. I love in the season 2 finale when he's captured and gives the security code to Kendall. Kendall threatens that if the intel is wrong he will basically be tortured until he gives the correct info and Sark says "Then I certainly hope Mr. Sloane hasn't changed the code." He's always so cool and collected with that lovely accent of his...all I gotta say is yum. ;-)

Oh yes, classic badass Syd, I loved that line too Jenn! Like I mentioned in the article I love in episode 1.16 The Prophecy when she's trying to leave a room and a guard stands in her say and she says "You move out of my way, or I'll MAKE you move out of my way".

By the way, if there's ever any dialogue from Alias you're trying to remember or want to quote, I found this site through Google that has every episode script from every season: http://www.twiztv.com/scripts/alias/ (yes, I know I'm a dork...)

crazy huh? I googled "alias episode script" and found that site, pretty cool! I wish there was a compliation of Alias songs, all that I know of are the CDs of original music like the opening theme and such. I've been making my own little iTunes playlist of Alias music but I don't know of any in distribution. :-\

So cool - the script site!!! I'm going to have to go peruse that one!

I agree Jenn - I want the music too! I don't think it's out there, but it should be. I would be first in line to buy it. I've thought about trying to download and make my own compilation, but it seems overwhelming to say the least!

I had my line from the pilot just about right... she had mid-terms, not finals!

I could waste too much time looking at these scripts! Fun!

LOL I know what you mean Tammy. ;-) I was trying to remember a Marshall quote (for the next article) and thought, hey, I wonder if the scripts are online somewhere? Isn't google grand?!? :)

The best of all time:
Sark: Are you comfortable? Do you feel comfortable trading priceless documents for a low-grade reporter?
Agent Jack Bristow: You should read Tippin's stuff. It's not so bad.
