Scene Cap of the Day

Syd and Marshall, mouth to mouth.
How happy were we that Marshall was able to find Sydney in time? I know I was very happy. Not only because he saved Sydney's life, but because, finally, Marshall Flinkman was able to make a name for himself out in the field. Forget about all the gadgets and the mumbling- he knew what to do, just like any other CIA agent and because of that, Miss Bristow was alive to thank him.
This was a very big scene for Marshall's character, it was about to demonstrate not only his brains, but his brawn- as he digs up the grave holding Sydney. I loved this episode- especially the music in the beginning and Sydney and Vaughn on the phone. Love it!

this eppy was so disturbing to me- but so great at the same time....vaughn yelling, "you're other left, Marshall!"

has anyone seen the previews for the new show on CBS, "Smith?" it looks kinda good....typical Oceans 11 or Heist basis....oh I just want to find another show to get into! but nothing will ever be as good and complicated and well rounded as Alias!

you can see a preview at http://www.cbs.com/primetime/upfront_2006/smith.shtml

tell me what you guys think! any suggestions for new shows to get into???

Wooo Hoo! High Speed internet, I'm back, baby!

I too loved this episode. Everything from seeing Syd on one of those obscure assignments we normally don't get to see in the beginning, to Marshall having to explain to Jack what a spork is. This show was filled with tension, action, implied character development, and huge one-liners.

One thing: was anyone else surprised by Syd's cavalier "Thanks" after Marshall had about killed himself trying to save her? I don't know why, but I just expected something a bit more emotional. She was all weepy in the box... I thought this might be an opportunity for Syd to bond a little more with Marshall.

Anyway, that's hardly important. Great episode! Nice SCD.

I did find it weird. She saved his life in season 1 and he got her that huge bouquet of flowers and Dixon that cologne. I thought it was weird that all he got was a thank you, but Syd is all about business and their mission wasn't over yet.

I think that all of the episodes that has marshall on an operation are all great. they're so funny but with great storys; but this misson for marshall was probably the best. one thing that made me a little upset is at the end when marshall has to make up a lie to tell carrie. its sad that he can't tell her the real good he does.

I don't understand that. Carrie used to work in the CIA, she was DSR, how come Marshall couldn't tell her? She was working on the same stuff.

Also, did anyone just now notice that they named their son Mitchell, like Joni Mitchell, the music Carrie was listening to when she and Marshall first talk about a date? How cute!

yeah I love Marshall in the field but especially this episode. I agree that it would have been nice to see a little more appreciation from Syd, but GS is right that she's all about the job and mission.

I don't like many of the stand-alone episodes, but this one is great! Marshall is so awesome. I forgot about the dancing at the end of the show. What a great episode! Can't wait to watch it again.

Has anyone confirmed that they are releasing a full season 1-5 DVD box set? I don't own the DVDs and am thinking about purchasing the set (I rent from Netflix and watch TNT).

All I am hearing is that season 5 will be out on DVD by it self around Thanksgiving, not sure about a box set.

i stumbeld on this the other day: if u go 2 the alias information on wikipedia, and then look under season five dvd, it says this:

The 6-DVD box set of Season 5 is scheduled for release in region 2 format (UK) on November 20, 2006. No region 1 release date has been announced.

Thanks for the information. I have been watching Season 5 over (on TIVO) and I like it better the second time around, especially not having to wait for the huge agonizing break between Horizon and SOS. Maybe it's worthwhile to invest in Season 5 DVDs for Bonus stuff.

More on this Scene Cap - it was sad when Marshall lied to Carrie. I love the episode in Season 5 where she gets pulled in when he gets kidnapped. It resolved the hanging thread of her not being in the loop in this episode. They are really cute together.

Two things bothered me about this episode:
1- being in the coffin, but that's because I'm prone to having clostophobia.
2- the dancing. Since JG is a trained dancer I was surprised when all the dancing in Cuba was done by a stand in. And, at the train station they didn't do a real dance. How much time would it have taken to teach MV to at least Fox Trot? It would have been a much better scene. (sorry to be so picky about the dancing)

Yeah, having a background in something and actually performing in front of people and having that work recorded forever is really... two very different things.

I have a background in audio-engineering and music production, but I definately would not want millions of people depending on me to record and produce "The Next Big Thing" for a nationwide release. It has been years since I've actually done it; I would definately want a professional stand-in. Although, I do think the director and editor could have made it more convincing that it was jen doing the part. I don't think anyone was fooled.

It's strange because they talked about her dancing background helping her do the fight scenes and some of her stunts...but it didn't help her do a dance scene?
