Birthday Girl (A Picture Article)

(Guest writer srg-alias aka SReneeG) Their sly looks of amusement and accomplishment coupled with the art dealer's dumfounded expression makes this one of my favorite scenes from season 1. It's a short interaction between Syd and Dixon, but working together they manage to distract the security long enough so she can sneak in and steal a decoder from the dealer's office while planting a CIA bug. Almost caught, Syd shows off her gymnast skills while silently enduring scalding heat from the pipe she clings to above the bumbling security guard's head. After seeing her in the usual badass mode it's extremely amusing to watch as she puts on a French pout while saying "Cherie, I think I prefer the Lamborghini" and have Dixon humor her with "You are the birthday girl", dispose his smoldering cigar with the dealer and the two of them walk out smirking. Syd and Dixon definitely made a great team while partnered at SD-6, anyone have another favorite partner mission from season 1 for the two of them?

Nice article srg! One of my favorite Syd and Dixon moments was actually not while they were partnered together. It was in Season 1:20, The Solution. Syd goes in with the CIA to meet Sark as a member of the Raslak Jihad (sp?) and Dixon infiltrates the meeting from SD-6. When he is fighting with Syd, I love the looks he gives - making you wonder so much if he guesses that it really is Sydney. I always wondered why Dixon - a very smart man, didn't guess that it was. Maybe he had his suspicions even then. Great Syd/Dixon moments though.

Thanks Tammy! Yeah that fight between Syd and Dixon was so tense...you could tell that she didn't want to fight him but she had no choice. There were a couple times she caught his eye and you can see a glimmer of recognition which was really scary for her at that point.

Thanks Jenn! Yeah that blue dress eppy was an awesome mission. That was from the second episode of season 1 called "And So It Begins" I think, awesome teamwork from Syd and Dixon!

Like Jenn, I too like how Syd and Dixon work so well together and depend on one another to save each other's lives. Like the mission where Syd & Dixon go find the Rambaldi manuscript where he gets shot by Anna Espinosa. Syd risks being found out as a double agent by using the CIA phone Vaughn gave her just to save Dixon's life. It showed the viewers how much Syd cares for Dixon.

I also like the one episode where they are in Vegas and Dixon (with dreadlocks) was in the private poker room and Syd (dressed as a showgirl) is watching them through the security video feeds. When the casino security finds out he's not the Jamaican diplomat he's claiming to be, Syd alerts him to switch the rings they were trying to get before they take him out of the room and then she helps him escape.

I agree anon, Syd and Dixon's ability to improvise solutions when their situations change is so much fun to watch!
