THE RETURN

MARCH 2nd!! Thursday, March 2nd will bring Alias back to the fold! Episode 11 baby! That means we have nearly 7 weeks! Seven I tell you! It's going to be a breeze! Rumor has it that episode 11 will be a 2 hour return episode and that the finale will be 2 hours, a one hour episode followed by series highlights and behind-the-scenes. Technically there are 12 episodes remaining, 14 hours worth. YAHOO!

So, let us speculate. Let us spare theory if you will. Who do you think is coming back and why? It has been confirmed that Michael Vartan is indeed signed for 3 more episodes, though to what capacity, it is unclear (but go ahead, every one take a deep sigh of relief and hug your nearest co-worker, friend or family member-Vaughn is back!).

We've been discussing season 3, if the long and somewhat tedious post below doesn't say enough. We've rolled over the idea that Lauren knew more or less than we thought. We have Sloane under a microscope, but so far, no dice- the man is just too darn ambiguous. And as for Jack and Irina, it could be anyone's guess. So come on! Drop your 2 cents here and let's gear up for the grand return of everyone's favorite Spy Drama!!

PS. As I mentioned in the comments- Jennifer Garner will be presenting tonight at the People's Choice Awards. It is her first public appearance since the birth of Violet. Jennifer is also up for an award tonight, favorite female action star, along with Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The show airs tonight on CBS at 9pm (PST). Enjoy!

GS- any idea on episode titles for the final shows. Thought that might give us a little bit of insight into what may hapen. How many episodes are left? I have seen several different numbers flying around the blog....11, 12 and 15. I figuered you's be the one to know :)

A question- We had started going back to the beginning to rewatch and started a couple blogs on S1 but haven't seen any since then. Should we go back to S1 and highlight some important info before we move on to S3 & 4, maybe that will help with all of our S3 questions (probably not). If nothing else it will fill up blog space for the next seven weeks!! We can do this people!!

I am all over the place with re-watching! I am at the front of season 3, and I just finished up season with a friend and now she wants to watch all my taped season 5. So, I am all over the place. Sadly, I don't own season 1 or 2 on DVD. I need to invest, pronto! Everyone is welcome to go back and if you find clues, bring it on! I love hearing peoples ideas and what clues they find in old season. It's the best.

As for episode titles, I heard there was a title for ep 11, but I don't know what it is. I believe the March 2 episode is 2 hours long, as is the finale. So, 12 actual episodes but 14 hours worth of Alias.

Not enough!

I hear ya! But I smell spin off or new network.

jenn256 said...

But wouldn't they (writers and producers) need to know soon about the new network idea, so they wouldn't have to kill themselves to fit in our one million and one question into 12 episodes? So if that theory could be true, we should be hearing soon!!

As far as being all over the place, I'm with you. Started watching S1 for the blog, skipped to S3 when we started talking about Lauren, Covenant, Elena, etc. Now skipping around all seasons doing research. It's confusing enough. But I have to say I watched "Facade" last night, not because I had any resaerch to do in that episode (it ws the ne right before it), but because I LOVE the end that we have discussd numerable times, the hug and song.

Oh Jenn, I just heart that episode. It's so sad and so happy at the same time. It's classic Alias, one of the best episodes, with the best guest star. I just love it. I have all Alias songs on CD. My sister made a soundtrack mix. I was listening to it last night. It's funny how I know which scene each song is from. PS. Love how we are the only ones making comments.

I want a CD with all the songs!! Wish they would make such a thing!! :) Or there was a way for you to send it over the internet to us all! Glad to have a date for a next episode. I'm probably moving between now and then, and I'm trying to figure out if I'll need to invest in cable in order to get reception so I can see Alias - my only priority for TV watching (except for the Olympics!).

I've been watching S3 re-runs on TNT lately, but would totally be up for re-watching S1 & 2 and blogging with y'all! Any excuse to watch Alias is a good one in my book. :)

PS. GS- Would you consider lending me your Season 5 tape? My roommates and I are in the same boat as your friend. We started watching Alias a few months ago, tore through the first 4 seasons and are now at a stand-still, not having seen any Season 5 eps. We're dying to catch up before the new episodes return!!

Ry,
Well, my tapes are a mess. I think I have eps 1,2,4,5,7 on one tape and then 3,8,and 9 on another. I don't know how that happened. I am not very tape savvy, so making copies is out. hmmm. Let me chat with my dear old pop and see if he might be able to rig me up a copy or two. Check the ABC message boards for others that might have copies and are willing to send them. I'll get back to you!

I have seen a couple posts on getting eps from this season.
You can use bittorrent (read about/ download at: http://www.bittorrent.com/)
you need to download this program first and then find the ep to download through the program.

and a search engine that I have found a couple alias eps when my dvr didn't work is:

http://isohunt.com/

Thanks for checking, GS. I'm leery of dowloading the episodes anywhere online (such as bittorrent or somewhere like it) because of it being pretty much technically illegal. I've been hoping that iTunes would pick them up, but so far, no dice. Any help you could provide would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

I'm here too! :) Thanks for the reminder about People's Choice, I'll be flipping between that and the Red Wings game haha! GS, I can't believe you don't own seasons 1-2, I think I'm actually wearing those DVDs out if possible. :) Do you have a bday coming up or something?? I tried to wait last year for the DVDs for my bday, I broke down and bought them all myself, I'm weak when it comes to Alias! I LOVE Facade too, definitely one of my favorite Alias episodes of all time, it's so clever and fun to watch.

Let's see, who will be coming back...well we already know Irena's back. I'm hopeful Will's coming back too, and obviously Vaughn. Sounds like evil Francie/Allison too? For the 100th episode I hope they go all out, lots of guest stars, maybe we'll get lucky and they'll give us a 2 hour eppy (one can only hope!) I honestly don't want to see Danny come back, that would irk me...we'll see.

Kudos to GS on the updated blog header!

I agree that bringing Danny back would be a little over the top(even for Alias). What about Auntie Katya, anyone heard about a return from Isabella Rosallini? And I think GS posted that Peggy Lipton was rumored to have been on set as Olivia Reed. I think that the only person we are missing is Anna Espinoza. Anyone heard anything on her?

jenn256 said...

ooh ooh, anyone know what Quentin Tarrantino has been up to? I never really felt that the McKennas Cole storyline was wrappedup to it's Alias potential. That would be great also.

srg-alias said...

Last we knew Anna was in CIA custody from Syd capturing her in s4. Wouldn't surprise me if she popped up again, also Sark. I liked the chemistry between him and Rachel, it would be cool if that could be tied into another episode or two, maybe he can be saved by the love of a good woman after all. ;-) Katya and Olivia are both MIA...we haven't seen Olivia since s3 and Katya was supposedly released from custody after helping Jack find Elena/Irena.

yeeeaahhh, good call jenn!

McKennas Cole -- Sounds like P5 helped him out of that jail cell that he was thrown into in Season one (was it season one, I'm to lazy to get up and check, plus my brain is fried from returning back to school today...MAN). Anywhoo, McKennas Cole's name always sends chills up my spine. I don't know what it is, but there is something about him. Something that I don't particularly like, and that I can't quite put my finger on.

As for new returns, What about little sis? Has any news about Nadia popped up?

And I know from spoilerfix that our man Weiss is up for some alias air time? Any ideas about what he's up to? I hear it's not what Syd and we expect.

jenn256 said...

do we think then that Weiss won't be the good guy we always thought he was? Good twist, but that would make me sad, I always loved him and his interaction with Vaughn. What else could it be?

jenn256 said...

where is JG on the People's Choice Awards? They didn't say her name as a presenter, and they haven't shown her sitting in the crowd. I was looking forward to seeing her.

Robetron said...

Rats!
I guess I am just going to have to quit coming to Alias sites in order to avoid spoilers. I didn't want to know anything about future shows. I love talking about past shows and trying to theororize what MIGHT happen, but I do not want to know that Weise has anything to do with anything or if he doesn't.
Rats!

jenn256 said...

we don't know anything about Weiss so I don't think that's a spoiler,we just know the capacity in which he returns is a surprise to Syd. For all we know he's coming back as new director of APO. That was all total brainstorming and theorizing, just like you said you wanted Robetron. SOrry to ruin anything for you.

Robetron said...

So, what you're telling me is that I just totally over reacted and that I just made a fool of myself before the entire host of the Internet?

Hmm. Par for the course. Sorry!
:D

jenn256 said...

no problem, I was just throwing out ideas on what would be so surprising to Syd about Weiss' return. Maybe he's uncovered some info since working in DC for the White house about P5 or Vaughn's death. Perhaps he stumbled on the fact that Vaughn's not really dead.

Mike1978 said...

Glad I am not the only one catching up on past seasons during this break. I am too broke to own the DVD's so thank god for Hollywood Video across the street. Anyway it's Kristin on E!Online who says that Alias will be back on March 2 but it's still not confirmed. But I don't think there is anywhere else to put it on ABC's current schedule (since Invasion is back w/ new episodes). Unfortunately it will still go up against Survivor, OC, Smallville, and Will & Grace. Anyway Weiss's return has me intrigured. What is he realing doing? Spoilers say he is "not exactly doing what he told Syd he was leaving to do". Maybe Vaughan has Weiss working on the P5 thing too - I mean they were close buds.

Kiki said...

I agree Mike, I think Weiss has been working with Vaughn this entire time. As for whether Sydney knows Vaughn is alive or not, I say last episode makes it clear that she might not know. I think she is starting to put 2 and 2 together, like the cup of water and such. I think she is in the dark and SpyDaddy is going to spring it on her. What a twist!

I thought the next epi is number 10? When did we skip to 11? Am I missing something???

srg-alias said...

lhaaheim is correct, the next episode is #10.
