New Characters: friend or foe...

We have seen new characters come and go, and it seems with the drastic changes of this upcoming season, that the new characters will be here to stay. Rachel Nichols made a brief appearance last night, and her loyalty is unknown.

Do you think the new characters and the return of old familiar faces, such as Sark and Irina, will help or hurt? Can they hold the show for Jennifer if she takes a hiatus? Only time will tell. What are your thoughts?

PS. Praying for a Sark return! I have heard that David Anders is confirmed for at least a 2 episode stint. Irina will also be gracing us with her presence as SpyMommy. Or should I be saying SpyGrandma?

Rachel Nichols was not the girl in the house. Rachel Nichols was the blonde agent who broke Marshalls code. She was helping Gordon Dean, the man who shot Layman and went after Vaughn.

Nope, she just happened to be another blonde girl. That's what I first thought too, but I watched it again, 2 different girls. What an interesting twist that would have been. Hmm. I wonder if the writer's and casting crew considered the idea that the audience would confuse the 2 blonde women.

yeah there was a post about this on the Alias ABC chat boards, the actress who broke Marshall's code is Nichols, the actress who caught Vaughn in the house was a different actress. A lot of people were confused though, kind of a bad idea for the casting people to do that. Anyway, I'm interested to see how the new characters will affect the story. I'm an old-school fan and love that some favs are returning like Sark (yum) and Irena. I honestly think any of these characters would have a hard time holding the show if Jen leaves, there are so many things about her and her character that are central to the show.

I have a hunch that Irina is in on Prophet Five, but if she knew Vaughn was investigating it, why wouldn't she just kill him when she had the chance?
