Back At It

Alias star Jennifer Garner is preggo again...but only as Sydney Bristow. Garner is back (with a belly pad) on the set this week folks and that means our predictions for a March 2 return are correct. YAHOO!! She is seen here, setting for a car scene, which leads me to believe that she gets off the barge without giving birth.

Are you not jumping up and down with glee? I am! PEOPLE, WE HAVE 30 DAYS!! 30 I SAY!!

Aside from Amy Acker, as Kelly Peyton, the cast of Alias will have a new regular very soon. Baby Bristow-Vaughn is on the verge of making his/her debut, and with mama running after terrorists and daddy off doing who-knows-what, this kid can only look forward to a life of excitement! So, birth predictions??? There are rumors Jack will be there. There are rumors that one of the characters will have to deliver! Is it a boy, is it a girl? Let's rock and rattle!

PS. There has been word that ABC has left Alias off of their spring line-up. DO NOT PANIC! There are several explanations:
1. ABC has not yet finalized their schedule and are debating about which day and timeslot is best for the spy drama.
2. Perhaps Alias has been picked up by another network and that information has not been released as of yet.
3. Or perhaps the show isn't returning until later.
HANG IN THERE!

Thanks to www.j-garner.org for the picture!

"ABC will be performing some scheduling gymnastics to get the remainder of its large midseason slate on the air, with four new series joining the previously slated "Sons & Daughters" on the network in March and April.
Left out of the mix, however, is "Alias," which was originally scheduled to return in March for its final episodes but is now a schedule orphan"

UMMMMM WHAT IS THIS??? Just found it on jen-garner.net

Let us not freak out. Take into consideration that JG and the gang would not be filming on set if the show were finished. Perhaps a new network as picked up the show...??? That's my take.

hmmmm, that makes me a little nervous amy. :-\

i know i know, i just feel like i have been pretty accepting and mentally stable in the face of the series ending...but i fear what will happen if they were to just leave us hanging. i mean i know they are so loyal to their fans (but what can the actors really do about it??)so i am not losing hope yet. the abc site still says "the next episode is yet to be scheduled" i definitely do not even want to think about them not bringing it back to finish....

no kidding, ABC would be really stupid not to have it end on their network, that just wouldn't make any sense after almost 5 years (rationalizing to myself to make me feel better...breath....just breath...)

What?!?!? I'm with ya, SRG. Just sit back... breathe, try not to panic... Seriously, though! They can't possibly just leave us hangin'. No way.

Man alive. If they did that, I'd boycott all things ABC. Its bad enough that they are giving up on thier best and brightest show.

The exec's meddle with the show format; we the fans say, okay: we can handle it. They turn the show upside-down each season; we the fans say, okay: we can handle it. They foolishly make the decision to end the show; we the fans say, okay: we understand. To end the show in mid-season, leaving the fans flopping like trout out of water is just too far. They owe us for our loyalty.

ABC, quit side-lining us! At least let us finish the game!

I hope CBS picks it up, extends it, replaces one the the dozen simple-minded CSI shows, and makes tons of money from it.

Okay. Yes, I know they are already filming for the final episodes, but the fact that they can't get it together this late in the schedule means that they have been neglecting thier duties.

Now I'm hungry, and therefore grouchy, so I am going to lunch, and I am going to watch an ALIAS episode just to cool my jets. :)

It's nearly impossible that another network has picked the show up... Alias would not fit in anywear else, and if that switch had been in the works we would have heard. The problem is that ABC does not respect the show, and has never really treated it correctly.
I read the new schedual, and its final, and theres no open spaces... I have no doubt that Alias will return, but ABC is making it hard to find out when.
It looks like March 2nd is out of the picture though.

I totally agree with you robetron if ABC doesn't show the remaining Alias episode I'm never going to watch their network again. But I'm having hope that they will air them but with the current schedule there is no room for Alias. I would be very disappointed in Stephen McPherson who promised us an bang up ending for Alias.

I am certainly not in anything that could be called a panic. I simply have an attitude with ABC. Every time we turn around its like they are disrespecting ALIAS, and by implication, its fans, us. The most recent: still not having announced the return of ALIAS.

I can add to this list from above. The twisted and changed the schedule so often that any potential new viewers dismiss ALIAS because they can't figure out when it is supposed to be on. They have made us wait through excruciatingly long periods between seasons. They have increasingly, and consistantly failed to advertise the show(particularly before this season). Yet... we all just say, fine. Where ever they put it, we will follow; whatever they do to limit the show's potential, fine - we will continue to watch because it is still the best show anywhere.

I am really at the end of my rope with these people trying to bring down our show. It was found-gold until they stuck their greedy little hands in the mix, fooled with the show format, switched air dates four times, and treated it with a general neglect. It is their own fault that ALIAS hasn't dominated the airwaves. There would have been a good deal more awards for the show, cast, and crew if they would have been left alone and in one spot.

The very point that they are wrestling with "Where do we fit ALIAS in?" is the point in contention. ALIAS is far better than those other shows, and there would be no ratings conflict had they just left ALIAS in its original spot. It could have handled and hour bump for DH. Moving it to Wednesday after LOST was a decent idea, generally speaking, so that people who like this style of TV would stay tuned. If they would have left it in place, they might have made a go of it.

I am saying this with all the calmness I would normally have in analyzing the show plots. Sure, maybe I am venting, but it is manifestly evident to me that ABC droped the ball, and they did with an arrogant impunity. Yes, ALIAS and its fans are resiliant, but not bullet proof. It never should have or would have been a ratings debate had they left it alone in the first place. Now we are left wondering just when, or whether we will get an ending at all. The doubt never should have entered the mind.

Okay. I'm done. I hope my venting has been theraputic you everyone.
:D

Birth prediction:

It will be a girl, and in the Same episode, Vaughn will come back and demand: "No, I was serious: Oscar should be her name!"

SRM said...

Robby I agree with everything you said, it was a good vent and I'm sure you spoke the mind of many of us.

I also predict it will be a girl, I really like the name Isabelle Bristow Vaughn!

amy said...

do you think my husband would mind if i named my baby Isabelle Bristow Vaughn.....haha!

In light of all this bad stuff, I just got some great news...
It seems that *spoiler* Anna will be back for the 100th episode!!! It begins production next week, so obviously the show will still air on ABC, it's just a matter of where they can fit it in.

Girlscout said...

Amy, I like Isabelle is a good name. I love the name Lila Vaughn, and I don't care who thinks I am a freak!

Most of you are not old enough to remember The Man From U.N.C.L.E. that aired in the mid-late 60's. It was the Alias of that era, but even more popular.

What is happening to Alias is identical to what happened to UNCLE. The network (NBC) exec.'s got involved tweaking the show(after it was a success), kept changing the night and time it was aired, eventually got involved in setting the tone of the scripts, and ratings began to slip. By the time the people who knew what they were doing got back in control and brought the show back to it's roots it was too late. It was cancelled mid season- no warning, no finale.

Uncle--

I hope that is not a prediction of what will happen to Alias because I may have a massive panic attack if Alias is canceled with no finale or anything....

yeah I certainly hope what happen to UNCLE doesn't happen to Alias, but at least we know these days even if it's not shown on TV that they would most likely finish the season/series on DVD. Yes that would drive all of us insane, but we know for sure that Alias is at least back to filming, so there will be episodes, it's just a question of whether they would be aired on TV. I can't believe ABC would do that to the fans, they will definitely be hearing from me if they do.
